Thanksgiving week

Starting out the holiday week...this is Thursday morning....gotta check out those black friday ads...it was too funny looking to not take a picture :)

Thursday....THANKSGIVING!!!!!! Chris made the turkey and mashed potatoes and I made the yams, stuffing, and pies!! It was yummy! Except my pumpkin pies turned out so weird...

Friday was super fun. First we went to eat at Chris' favorite Chinese place-The Wok King Cafe. Someday Chris will get to try my favorite Chinese place in Idaho. Then we went bowling. This is a tradition that my side of the family has been doing forever-go bowling the day after Thanksgiving. There's always a little bit of competition and this year we compared scores since we were in Utah and Idaho. Chris kept getting distracted by the football game. I think it hurt his score a bit.

The last thing we did was get our Christmas Tree and to decorate!! It was an adventure. The first place we went to had super pretty trees but they were way out of the budget. The next place we went to was great. The people helping us were so fun. We got our tree and, as a bonus, a 25 lb. bag of Idaho potatoes. What a deal.

Saturday was our movie day. Me, Chris, his mom, and Taneya all went to see Harry Potter. I decided to bring some treats....mmmm.....Muddy Buddies! :)

Cars...love 'em or not....

So last night I met Chris at his work so we could drop off his car to get a dent taken out right before he sells it. As we are leaving the parking lot I start hearing this thump, thump noise....yes, my tire was completely flat! Somehow I came in contact with a screw and it killed my tire. Grrrr!!! So we spent a while out in the cold changing the tire. I'm so glad Chris was right there. So instead of going to school this morning we are getting the tire fixed so Chris can go to work. You gotta love only having one car. What an adventure.

Hair Dye Time...

Chris and I went to the store to pick up a few things the other day. One thing we picked up was hair dye. Chris wanted to try and go a little darker and I just figured that I could use the left overs and put some highlights or something in my hair. I started out dying Chris' hair. It didn't take too long and then I got ready to do my own hair. Somewhere between being done with Chris' hair and the end of this adventure Chris talked me into doing something I have never, ever done before...I dyed all my hair....and I did it dark. It was quite the adventure. I had fun dying Chris' hair and then ended up covering my eyes the whole time Chris dyed mine. I think I am a brave person to let my husband dye my hair. The deal was if his hair turned purple he got to shave it. If my hair didn't turn out I would get to go get it done professionally. So far so good. Chris still has hair and I haven't had to go spend any more money... :)

Canning!!!

I grew up with a mom who cans and occasionally I helped, especially as I got older. Now that I am older and have started a family I have this crazy desire to can!! :) So I tried it on my very own today. What an adventure! I always remember it being a lot more work...granted, we were canning for a family of 8 and I have a family of 2. It wasn't all that bad and they look like they turned out....take a look for yourselves. If you have any canning advice it is greatly welcomed!

Fall is here!!

Saturday Chris and I took a little drive through the Alpine Loop, stopped at Cascade Springs, and enjoyed a nice quiet picnic. It was so gorgeous!! I love watching the leaves change, feeling the air turn crisp, and doing it all with Chris! Here are just a few pictures of our adventures :)
