Chris and I went on our first bucket list adventure! On our way out we got a fishing license for me and then took a ridiculously long drive finding the perfect spot. Our first idea had way too many people, our second idea was unreachable in a little car (someday we will have a truck to go off-roading just to get to a fishing site), and so we went to our third idea....the Jordan River. We didn't stay very long...things just weren't working out well. Needless to say, this adventure is not quite completed. I think this will be an ongoing adventure for a very long time! :)

Just a thought...
"Though the storm clouds may gather, though the rains may pour down upon us, our knowledge of the gospel and our love of our Heavenly Father and of our Savior will comfort and sustain us and bring joy to our hearts as we walk uprightly and keep the commandments. There will be nothing in this world that can defeat us. My beloved brothers and sister, fear not. Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith." {Pres. Thomas S. Monson}
I have heard a bit of this quote before but I really love the whole thing. I found it here along with some other quotes that are amazing.
"Despite Adversity, Be of Good Cheer"
4th of July
For the 4th of July we went to Silver Lake Flat. It was gorgeous and we found this little place that was away from everyone else there. We got up there about 7am so Chris could go fishing. It was a slow fishing day...

Handmade Gift Exchange
I participated in this event sponsored by Craftaholics Anonymous....the Handmade Gift Exchange. I got paired up with a girl from Flordia. Her favorite holiday is Halloween so this is what I made:
I originally wanted to hang this in a long picture frame but the letters were too big so I just kept it a wall hanging. I still want to try making one for myself using the picture frame...we'll see how it turns out.

The Bucket List
Chris and I came up with a list of things we want to do, especially on Saturdays, so we don't sit around and be too lazy. We are wanting to put more effort into being more active and more social. Click on the "Bucket List" link above (just right under our super cuter picture) to check out all of our ideas.

Homemade Ice Cream
I remember as a kid watching my dad work his magic with the ice cream maker and all of us kids sitting around it watching it and waiting for it to be done. Lately I have been really wanting to make homemade ice cream but I really don't want to go out and buy the machine. So in my blogging adventures I found a machineless (is that even a word?) homemade ice cream recipe! Yipee!!!! So here is what you need:
2 c. heavy cream
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
Flavors, toppings, mix-ins
Start by whipping the heavy cream to stiff peaks and set aside. Next, add your favorite flavors, toppings, and mix-ins to the sweetened condensed milk. Fold in the whipped cream to your sweetened condensed milk mixture….freeze and enjoy!

Furniture Redo!!
I love re-doing furniture! It is so fun to see it transform into something you want it to be. Chris and I have been trying to find night stands. We searched on KSL and the only sets were about $50 which isn't terrible, but I'm cheap! So when I found these cuties for $2.50 each I snagged them up so fast! They were not in the best shape, but they were cheap. Here are a few before pictures...

The Waiting Game....
Who knew the process of purchasing a home is so involved!? We were hoping everything would run so smooth and work the first time so we could close just a little bit early on our new home. Well, the complete opposite is our fate.
Of course something would happen to slow the whole process down a bit, and slow it down a bit more, and slow it down just a bit more. I think I finally realized why some people stay in one home their whole life....it's so much easier! :)
Regardless....this is a great opportunity to practice a wee bit of patience. I have been struggling a teeny tiny bit--or maybe A WHOLE LOT--with this whole thing. It just goes to show that sometimes certain circumstances happen to help you learn a few of life's lessons.
So what is the lesson that I get to learn....hmmm.....if I don't have control, I don't need to worry about it. And I am totally working on actually incorporating that into my life right now. Let's face it, worry is just wasted energy. And there are so many better things to do than worry. (except when all your things are all in boxes) Like I said, I'm working on it. :)
