7 Months Old!!!

How time flies!!!!

What is Lincoln doing at 7 months? Here is a short list:
~loves his new found freedom in the way of army crawling...EVERYWHERE and getting into everything. He's our mini tornado but we love cleaning up those kind of messes
~tries to eat anything and everything...including toes (anyone's who may be within his reach), chins, toys and chair levers. If I am sitting at the computer desk I often find that he has crawled over to the chair and tries to eat the lever that makes the chair go up and down...silly boy!
~thoroughly enjoys avocados and drinking out of a regular cup. He says "mmmmmm" after every bite of avocado, but only avocados. He tolerates all other foods well, just doesn't enjoy them quite as much.
~likes to read books and turn the pages with his feet
~loves to be tossed and hang up-side-down. I think he and his dad will be great amusement park buddies
~enjoys spending time with his dad, especially if he gets to ride on dad's shoulders.

Too Cute!

I found a new love...Lincoln's cute little teeth! I think they are absolutely adorable! He seems to smile bigger and more often now to show them off so I took a chance and got some extremely cute pictures of his two little teeth...except the first picture (it's just a typical Lincoln look-sorta smiles while sucking on his fingers-he does it all the time)

Now that Lincoln is army crawling like a crazy man and has learned how to open and close doors, pots and pans are a new favorite attraction. It's really the only cupboard he will get into. Up go the sharp, unsafe objects and down come the Tupperware, plastic lids, and other fun kitchen gadgets to play with.

Does the sun still shine?

So this last week it snowed and snowed and snowed some more! It has been so cold and dreary and the inversion has been terrible. One day it started snowing so I went out to shovel the driveway and by the time I was done you couldn't even tell I had done anything. I went to shovel again after I got home from work so Chris would have a clean place to park. I was almost done and at the end of the driveway when a tractor came down the road scraping the snow to the side of the road. I was so excited that I  made such a great pathway for Chris and then my excitement was buried by at least 2 feet of snow. So much for a clear pathway. I wasn't about to tackle that wall of snow so I just called Chris and warned him about it instead.
I do have to say that all the snow fall was really pretty though. I love when the world is coated with a fresh layer of beautiful snow!!!

After 2 days of snowing the sun and a blue sky appeared!!!!!! It was magical! It was beautiful! I don't think we had seen the sun for a good 3 weeks or more because of the inversion. I don't think I have ever been so excited to see the sun.

Water Baby

Since Lincoln loves bath time so much we decided a trip to the pool was in order. I was only able to snag a couple pictures but he sure loved it! The kiddie end just gradually sloped into the bigger pool so we sat Lincoln down in all 4 inches of water and watched him splash away. I'm sure there will be plenty more visits to the pool, especially this summer!

Solid food take 3!!!!

They say the third times the charm...let's hope so. We decided to start feeding Lincoln pureed avocado hoping he would tolerate it better. So far so good. It's been a few weeks and we have even introduced peas and squash. He loves them all so far and he tolerates them much better than the cereals. What a relief!!!!!
I was trying to feed him one day and he decided it was time to start feeding himself. I didn't feel like fighting it so I gave in and let him try. He actually did really well. I would put a teeny tiny bit of food on the spoon, Lincoln would reach for the spoon and then try to put it in his mouth. Most of the time he got it in his mouth the first time.

(I don't know what it is about this picture but I just love it!!!!!! He's so stinkin' cute!)
Because I am super cheap frugal, I started making my own baby food. I love it! At first I would just take some of the veggies we had for dinner and puree them but then I decided I wanted to have a bunch on hand. It makes it so easy! Chris and I went around for a few days trying to find an ice cube tray that was smaller than a regular tray but could not find one. Finally I went to target and saw this cute little heart shaped ice cube tray. They are the perfect size for freezing baby food. It's so nice to go to the freezer and grab a heart and thaw it out. My previous method wasn't so easy and I ended up breaking a few plastic containers...oopps!

I spent part of a day steaming, cooking and pureeing a bunch of veggies and then freezing them just for my lil' man. He probably doesn't care that his food was frozen in the shape of heart but in a strange sort of way I feel like a super loving mom making his food look cute right before he devours it.

Missing Dad

The other day while working, Lincoln started calling for dad. It was so adorable I had to get it on video. It makes me smile every time I watch it.
