Happy Birthday Lincoln!
The first part of our summer was just crazy! It felt like we were everywhere and never got to sleep in our own beds forever. Lincoln just happened to turn two on one of those crazy, but fun, weekends. We went up to Idaho because Bryler was leaving for his mission that week and got to speak in church...crazy that Bryler is a missionary! Anywho...back to Lincoln. Even though we were going to be out and about on his birthday I still wanted to have cake and sing to him. I mean, it's his 2nd birthday...it only happens once! At first I was just going to do a plain old boring cake-just to make sure he got one. But then we checked out Despicable Me 2 from the library and that little boy asked for it all day for about 4 days. Seriously. All. Day. Long. He was glued. Maybe I will get the bad mom award but I let him watch it every time he asked. My reasoning...1) it kept him busy and occupied and 2) I had so much to get caught up, had to pack, had to clean....the list goes on. So, in light of his new little addiction we went with a mini minion theme. I love how it came together! The cupcakes were fun and cute and the cake turned out so good! (Thanks Taneya for the artwork!)
We sang to Lincoln and he just couldn't wait to get his hands on one of the cupcakes!
But that first bite is the only bite he took...at least everyone else enjoyed them :)
So...what is Lincoln like at 2?
*loves to run...he doesn't ever stop
*finally loves reading books
*he will go around the house saying "where are you?" to anything he has lost til he has found it...probably my favorite thing ever! It's so cute. And he doesn't forget what he is looking for no matter how much you try to distract him
*loves playing basketball with dad and wrestling
*loves to dance to the demo music on the piano
*has to do everything himself...if you try to help he shakes his little finger at you and says "no no no"...he's just a little bit independent...just a little :)
It really is hard to imaging what our life was like without him. He definitely keeps us on our toes but we sure love him. Happy Birthday bud!
